From wildcard to winner! History was made yesterday in Teahupo’o, Tahiti when local wildcard, Vahine Fierro claimed the win in pumping swell in front of her family, friends & local community. With a fairy-tale run from the opening rounds to her epic finals day performance, Vahine’s grit, determination and commitment were impressive to witness.

Vahine is not only the first Tahitian to win the competition (male ore female) but also the first wildcard to win at the formidable break.
